Nichiban NT116 Gaffer Tape – also known as stage tape – is a versatile tape that can be used in almost any situation. The tape is available in various colours and sizes and is known for its reliable adhesion. Thanks to its special natural rubber adhesive layer, the tape leaves little to no adhesive residue when removed, making it ideal for temporary applications of up to approximately three months.
The NT116 is manufactured in Japan from high-quality linen and has a sturdy 80 mu quality. Despite its strong construction, the tape is easy to tear by hand, both lengthwise and widthwise. The strong polyethylene coating also ensures that the tape is water-resistant and wear-resistant.
Nichiban Gaffer Tape is ideal for bundling cables, finishing floors, temporary repairs and reinforcing materials. The tape adheres to almost all grease-free surfaces and is also UV-resistant to a limited extent.
That is why Nichiban is widely used by stage builders, event companies, lighting and sound rental companies, stand builders, theatres and pop venues – in short, the entire events industry.
The Nichiban NT116 differs from the regular Nichiban NT1200 Gaffer Tape in that this variant leaves even less adhesive residue when removed. This makes the NT116 particularly suitable for fragile or sensitive surfaces.
In addition, the NT116 has a slightly stronger construction, making it more suitable for long-term applications. The NT116 is therefore often recommended for use longer than approximately three months. Like other Nichiban tapes, this variant can be torn by hand in length and width and is completely water-resistant.
