The TD47 Products H-5 heat-shrink tubing is a high-quality heat-shrink tubing with an adhesive layer on the inside. Thanks to the integrated adhesive layer, the heat-shrink tubing fits snugly around the cable or connection after heating. This provides robust and reliable protection against, amongst other things, moisture, dirt and mechanical stress.
The H-5 heat-shrink tubing is available in various colours and is therefore not only suitable for protection and insulation, but also for clearly identifying and distinguishing cables and wiring.
Heat-shrink tubing with adhesive layer
The H-5 variant features a natural rubber adhesive on the inside. During heating, the adhesive layer melts and fills any small gaps and irregularities around the cable or connection. Once cooled, a sturdy, snug-fitting protection is formed.
The TD47 H-5 heat-shrink tubing is UV-resistant and suitable for use at temperatures ranging from -55 °C to +110 °C.
The heat-shrink tubing is supplied in a handy dispenser box, so you can easily unroll and cut off the required length.
For added organisation, a separate dispenser rack for 6 dispenser boxes is also available. Ideal for use on the workbench, in the warehouse or in the service van.
How does TD47 H-5 heat-shrink tubing work?
Heat the heat-shrink tubing with a heat gun. The heat causes the tubing to shrink tightly around the cable or connection, releasing the adhesive layer on the inside.
Shrinkage begins at around 70 °C. Full shrinkage is achieved at approximately 100 °C.
Move the heat gun gently and evenly back and forth whilst heating. This ensures the heat is distributed evenly and prevents localised overheating, unevenness or damage to the heat-shrink tubing.
Tip: heat the heat-shrink tubing gradually until it fits snugly and a small amount of adhesive becomes visible at the ends. This way, you know that the adhesive layer has bonded properly and you achieve an optimal seal.
