How to determine the right length of cable tie

Use this simple formula to calculate the circumference of your bundle:

Diameter x π (3.14) = Circumference

Example:
Do you have a cable bundle with a diameter of 5 cm?
Then: 5 x 3.14 = 15.7 cm
So you need a cable tie of at least 160 mm.

Tip: Use the right length rather than cutting it off. That way you work more efficiently and sustainably.

Durable use and storage of cable ties

TD47® cable ties are made of polyamide (PA66), a hygroscopic material. This means that it attracts and releases moisture. Proper moisture content (±2.5%) is essential for flexibility and strength.

- Store cable ties in the original, closed packaging
- Preferably use opened packages within 12 months
- Avoid direct sunlight (e.g. dashboard van)
- Do not store near heat sources such as heaters or radiators
- Ideal conditions: ±23°C and 50% humidity
